Hello.

Benjamin Parker is a focused legal professional and Bachelor of Laws student at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), bringing over a decade of high level operational and leadership experience to his legal studies. Currently based in Brisbane, Ben is transitioning a successful career in aviation operations and leadership into a dedicated practice in the Queensland legal sector.
Since 2011, Ben has served as cabin crew and is currently an international onboard Customer Service Manager at one of Australia’s major airlines, a role requiring rapid decision making, complex problem solving, and the management of diverse teams in a highly regulated environment. Beyond operational management, he has been a pivotal voice in workplace advocacy, serving as a Councillor for the Flight Attendants’ Association of Australia (FAAA). In this role, he moved beyond the cabin to the halls of Parliament House, successfully lobbying with the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) for the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Closing Loopholes) Act 2023 (Cth). This key piece of employment legislation contributed to national workplace reform for labour hire and gig workers, introduced industrial manslaughter, made wage theft a crime, introduced workplace delegates rights, and other enterprise bargaining reform. These experiences sparked his deep interest in the Australian industrial legal framework.
As a dedicated volunteer and member of the Australian Labor Party in Queensland, he combines the analytical precision of a law scholar with the practical, real world experience who understands how policy and legislation impact people and organisations. Ben is driven by the belief that the law is a powerful tool for social and economic progress and motivated to further contribute to national policy.
Ben is eager to leverage his unique blend of advocacy, safety leadership, and legal education to contribute to the wider Australian community, particularly in areas where complex dispute resolution and legislative compliance intersect.
